These truly are a good idea, would make blade changing much easier, but I couldn’t get them to work. Instead of rolling up on them the mower just pushed them forward leaving black skid marks all over the driveway. I tried going slow and fast with no success. I plan to return them.

I also had the issue of the ramps sliding both on gravel and blacktop but I have also had the same issue with the regular style ramps. I solved my issue by putting these ramps on the grass where they held fine. I think they need to improve the design slightly.

I do not mind lying in grass and once I got my riding mower up on these ramps I was very pleased with how much room I had to work with. With the regular ramps I never had enough room to work underneath the mower deck.I will be keeping mine.

Blitz does need to make those grips on the bottom a little bigger and that might solve the problem.

I agree with the other review so far – good idea but it does not work on a hard surface. Made black marks on my concrete driveway as I slid all over and wore the plastic bottom off the EZ Ramp waiting for them to work. I got lucky and the ramps worked in the grass. I got un-lucky and laid in the grass to work under my lawn mower and got eaten alive by insects. Don’t buy, not worth any dollar amount. I’m going back to using my ramps and placing them on the back of my truck or wall.

I already own their ramps for cars, the 8,000 pound version which is excellent. I can now get under my cars to change the oil. I bought these for my lawn tractor (I tried it on the car ramp but the ramp portion does get in the way of the mower section). I have to agree with the others. I tried these on my asphalt driveway, and they were nigh onto impossible to get on to. The tractor sort of shoved one around and distorted it (it popped back into shape afterward) and really wouldn’t get on top. The ramps worked quite well on my lawn. Obviously, don’t use them right after a rain when the ground is soggy. Once on the ramp (you have a 6″ rise) you should have enough room to access the mower blades. I also use the Blitz wheel chocks for the rear wheels.

    Rating:
This is being written just hours after unpacking the mower, so opinions may change a bit after prolonged use.

First – it does work quite well, and as generally expected. It is easy to start, the design is clean, and the obvious lack of noxious exhaust is great. It is fairly easy to “assemble”, which largely involves unfolding the handle and bolting it in place. That, and putting the bagger together are the two major mechanical steps. (I have not yet used the bagger, but I know from using other similar units that you have to be ready for frequent emptying unless you are doing a very small patch of grass.)

Before starting the mower it is necessary to put oil in it. Don’t be confused by the the manual. It states that you must use service grades SF,SG, or SH 10W-30 oil. Good luck finding these as the API website lists these as obsolete. I’m assuming you just use regular SAE 10W-30 SM motor oil. I can only imagine that the technical writer for the manual was looking at some very old reference books!

Most irritating is that this is advertised as a Side Discharge mower. The manual even shows you how to attach the Side Discharge Shroud. Well, there is no shroud, and you will find no capability for side discharge short of cutting an opening in the mower deck with your saber saw! Lest I be misunderstood, let me restate; this product, advertised as SIDE DISCHARGE, definitely is not! So beware if this is an important consideration for you. You will only be able to run it with the bagger or as a mulching mower. Neither of these options may be optimal if you cut high and/or wet grass.

All in all, if you overlook the previously mentioned issues, this mower does seem to provide pretty good functionality with a lessened environmental impact.

After a 3.5 month wait, this mower finally arrived…only to be immediately sent back due to quality control issues including “hanging” parts that obviously were never connected straight at the factory. Then again, what can you expect from items made “elsewhere” and shipped to the USA.

Okay, the saga of this lawnmower began months ago when I read about the new propane powered technology and thought this would be a terrific idea. As a landlord who needs to do a bit of odd maintenance in between vacancies, hauling a mower is always a dirty/messy and smelly job. No gas mess/smell, long term storage of propane plus the quiet, energy/eco friendly all sounded terrific so I put in an order even though there were not yet any reviews. Months go by and I wait…and wait…and wait. I contact the company to finally be told they are being shipped into the USA (hey – how eco-friendly is THAT?) and would arrive in another couple weeks (which they did). Total wait time…over 3 months.

The first mower finally arrives and must be immediately sent back/returned. There is a bar that goes from the back wheel to the front wheel on the right side of the machine that was never even attached…it was just hanging there, ready to interfere with the wheels if trying to mow. Obviously something missed at the factory – quality assurance isn’t impressive.

The second mower promptly arrives thanks to Amazon and this one appears to have been put together right (no hanging parts). Overall it seems solid enough, very easy to use, quieter than a regular lawnmower but still fairly comparable to a standard push mower. Cut span is a bit small but reasonable. There is NOT a side discharge…only a back discharge so you either collect or mulch.

Speaking of the collection bag…it’s a bit of a pain and much more difficult to remove than my old model standard mower (which was very durable and super easy/convenient). Suddenly bagging has become a major irritation again… a real negative since we like to use clipping in the compost pile.

Wheels and other parts are plastic like most mowers today…although very big and bulky so I’m not sure whether standard parts are going to fit should the need arise.

Overall, seems like a decent machine out of the box (the second one that is). Pro’s and con’s…

    PRO’s:

    No gasoline

    Super easy to use

    Quieter – a bit

No notable deficiency in strength (standard yard…nothing special or difficult)

    CON’s:

Over 3 month wait to receive

Built overseas and shipped to USA (not so green)

Bagger is a big pain in the neck to attach/disattach/no side discharge option

Quality control issues – very sloppy and easily noticed problem with hanging pieces on first one received.

    Questions:

Will standard replacement parts fit? Not sure yet especially on items like the wheels which seem much wider than regular mower wheels.
